About Music, Movement, Memory
Music Movement Memory ( by Mischa) is an initiative focused on service, kindness, and eliciting positive memories for senior citizens. Empowered by the loss of her grandparents to Alzheimers, Mischa is determined to give back to the senior community, especially those struggling with memory loss. As a competitive dancer for 10 years, she utilizes her passion to bring a smile to people's faces, specializing in the New Jersey area! She dances to old tunes, reminding the participants of their youth! Hoping to major in psychology one day, Mischa is especially conscious of the brain, Alzheimers research, and ways to soothe dementia patients.

About Me
My name is Mischa Strashnov
I am a junior at Dwight-Englewood School. I am a dancer who enjoys sharing my passion for music and movement. I am the founder and principal dancer for Movement, Music and Memory, an organization that brings dance performances to memory care centers, inviting joy and connections through dance and song. We select music genres specific to our audience and perform dances, hoping to elicit positive memories and warm emotions for our patrons.
Movement, Music and Memory is dear to me, as two of my grandparents have been affected by dementia and Alheimer’s. I have experienced firsthand the magic and comfort that familiar music and dance have brought my grandparents. I am dedicated to bringing light and comfort to others enduring similar memory challenges.
